About Pink Llama
We take your fitness seriously. Ourselves, not quite as much.
Pink Llama is built around a pretty simple idea: training matters because of what it helps you do outside the gym.
We take the programming, coaching, and work seriously. We just don’t think that requires aggressive slogans, intimidating gym culture, or making fitness your whole personality.
Free 15-minute phone call. No workout. No pressure.
What we believe
Fitness should support your life. Not take it over.
Most people already have enough to think about. Work, family, relationships, schedules, travel, and everything else that makes up an actual life.
Training should make you better equipped for that life. It shouldn’t require you to become an expert in exercise science or spend your free time trying to decide which fitness trend deserves your attention.
That’s what coaching is for.
Consistency beats intensity
The workout you can keep doing matters more than the perfect week you can’t sustain.
Progress over perfection
Life will interrupt the plan sometimes. Adjust, keep moving, and build from where you actually are.
Coaching beats guesswork
You shouldn’t have to research your way through every workout. We handle the programming and help make the decisions that come with it.
Capability matters
Strength and fitness are useful because of what they let you do everywhere else.
So... why Pink Llama?
First, because fitness could stand to loosen up a little.
The fitness industry can take itself very seriously. Aggressive names. Aggressive slogans. Lots of messaging about pushing harder, doing more, and making fitness your identity.
We take your training seriously. We just don’t think that means we have to take ourselves quite so seriously along the way. Pink Llama is memorable, a little unexpected, and usually gets someone to ask the question you’re reading right now.
But there’s another reason.
For years, my own training was about chasing more. More weight. More reps. More intensity. Then my daughter arrived early and spent her first 31 days in the NICU.
That changed my definition of strength.
Holding her 2.5-pound body with steady hands mattered more than any PR. Today, strength means being able to pick her up, get off the floor with a sleeping kid in my arms, chase her around, and say yes when she wants another adventure.
The llama came from those early days. I read Llama Llama Red Pajama to her constantly in the NICU, and llamas became our thing. A few years and one bright pink stuffed llama later, Pink Llama stuck.
The name reminds me why we train in the first place.
Not to get better at going to the gym.
To get stronger, healthier, and more capable for whatever matters outside of it.
That is what we want Pink Llama to help our members do too.
Good people. Good coaching. No weird vibes.
How we coach
Listen first. Program second.
Good coaching starts by understanding the person in front of you.
What are you trying to accomplish? What has worked before? What keeps getting in the way? What does your schedule actually look like? What does your body need today?
Then we build and adjust the training around the answers.
Every session is coached
We teach, watch, adjust, and make decisions with you while you train.
Training has a purpose
We take what we learn and turn it into training with a purpose instead of asking you to figure it out yourself.
We adjust the training to the person
Your goals matter, but so do your schedule, history, preferences, and the rest of your life.
We use real information
Goals and circumstances change. The plan should be able to change with them.
Our training approach
Metabolic strength training for real life.
We use strength training and conditioning because being strong, capable, and able to keep going is useful outside the gym.
The goal isn’t to make you great at exercising. It’s to build qualities you can use when you’re working, parenting, traveling, playing, hiking, carrying things, getting off the floor, or saying yes to something you want to do.
Get stronger
Build useful strength and capacity over time.
Improve your conditioning
Do more, recover better, and have more left when the rest of life asks for it.
Keep moving well
Train mobility, stability, and movement quality so being capable doesn’t stop at lifting heavier things.
